Route: Leh (3N) → Nubra Valley (1N) → Pangong Tso (1N) → LehArrival Leh (Acclimatization Day)
Experience a wonderful flight over the Himalayas into Leh Airport. On arrival, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel. After welcome tea and coffee, rest for the whole day to let your body acclimatize to the high altitude (11,500 ft). Late afternoon, if health permits, drive to Shanti Stupa for panoramic sunset views over Leh. Overnight stay in Leh Hotel.
Hall Of Fame / Magnetic Hill / Gurudwara / Sangam Point
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we take you for an excursion along the Indus valley: visit the patriotic Hall of Fame built by the Indian Army in memory of Kargil War heroes; Gurudwara Patthar Sahib (built in 1571 to commemorate Guru Nanak Dev Ji's visit); the gravity-defying Magnetic Hill where vehicles move uphill with engines off; and Sangam Point (Nimu) where the Zanskar and Indus rivers merge (optional river rafting available). Return to Leh for overnight stay.
Leh – Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass (18,390 ft) (120 km / 4–5 hrs)
After an early breakfast, drive to the breathtaking Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass (Highest Motorable Road in the World, 18,390 ft). Descend through zig-zag mountain trails into Nubra. Arrive at Hunder Village and check in to hotel/luxury camp. In the afternoon, explore the silver sand dunes and enjoy a double-hump bacterian camel safari (on own). Visit 500-year-old Deskit Gompa with its giant Maitreya Buddha statue. Overnight in Nubra Valley.
Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake via Shyok Valley (170 km / 7 hrs)
Post breakfast, drive towards the world-renowned Pangong Tso via Agham & Shyok Valley. Pass through rugged terrain, Changthang nomadic settlements, and suddenly behold the breathtaking blue waters of Pangong Lake situated at 14,000 ft (4,267 m). This 133 km long brackish lake spans across the Indo-China border (famous from the movie 3 Idiots). Check in to our scenic camp near Pangong Lake. Dinner & overnight at Pangong Camp.
Pangong Lake to Leh via Changla Pass (140 km / 6 hrs)
Morning at leisure to capture sunrise reflections across the lake. Later, drive back to Leh crossing the mighty Changla Pass (5,486 m). En-route visit Thiksey Monastery (an impressive multi-tiered hilltop complex resembling the Potala Palace), Shey Palace (ancient capital of Ladakh), and the famous Rancho School (Druk Padma Karpo). Arrive in Leh and check in to hotel. Overnight in Leh.
